JoPetrol Obtains Patent for Water and Flood Sensing System in Fuel Tanks

The Jordanian Petroleum Products Marketing Company, “JoPetrol”, proudly announces that it has obtained a patent from the Ministry of Industry and Trade for its innovative system for “sensing water and flooding in fuel tanks”.

The registered invention, developed by JoPetrol, represents a significant achievement in the energy sector, particularly in petroleum derivatives. The system, implemented in 150 service stations, monitors and protects fuel tanks from risks associated with water ingress or the tank approaching overflow conditions. The system alerts and warns the station staff about the imminent threat in one of the tanks, specifying the type of danger to avoid the problem before it occurs.

The invention stands out by converting this textual message coming from the fuel inventory measurement system (ATG) into an auditory and visual alert. It identifies the type of problem (presence of water or nearing overflow) in the fuel tanks to avert the issue before its onset.

Moreover, the system does not only provide auditory and visual warnings when danger approaches but also acts to halt the discharge from the fuel tanker by electrically closing the solenoid valve, thus stopping the discharge automatically without human intervention.

The General Manager of the Jordanian Petroleum Products Marketing Company “JoPetrol”, Engineer Khaled Al-Zu'bi, stated: "This new invention enhances JoPetrol's position as a leading company in the marketing and distribution of petroleum products and reaffirms its commitment to innovation and providing the best solutions for its customers. This system is a new addition to the modern technologies that JoPetrol employs in its operations." Al-Zu'bi added, "JoPetrol takes pride in its team that developed this invention, which will boost safety and efficiency, and the company looks forward to a bright future and continued success in delivering innovations and achieving customer satisfaction."
