Laboratory Tests

The role of the  laboratory and quality control department  is conducting the needed laboratory tests on crude oil and petroleum products during the production processes in order to monitor the performance of production units, and to ensure that the quality of the final products supplied comply with the specifications and standards in place, the department also contributes to the development of plans and programs relating to secure the needs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan of petroleum products, in addition to monitoring the refinery’s crude oil and oil derivatives stocks, consumption, and production on a daily, monthly,  & yearly basis, and to provide the concerned local authorities with the information needed.

Petroleum products included in the testing & quality control programs are: Jet fuel, kerosene, diesel, liquefied natural gas, fuel oil, gasoline, and asphalt. Adopted test methods   are approved and issued by competent authorities in this area such ASTM, IP, UOP, DIN, ISO and others.

The Laboratory and quality control Department operates in accordance with the instructions and procedures set in ISO 9001: 2008, which was obtained in 2007 to improve the level of quality of services provided.

The department is currently in the process of obtaining the accreditation of efficiently testing and calibration for laboratories known as ISO 17025 standard as: 2005, to maintain its outstanding level of performance.
